When doing sit ups I never feel I am doing them right and usually just end up working out my neck. My question is do ab toning belts isolate the abs when doing a routine?
Angela: Well it is a proven fact that sit ups lose belly fat, but I agree, they are very hard to do. I’ve tried using weight or using those ab machines at the gym wehre you ned forward, but don’t have time to go to the gym every week. Looks like an EMS ab belt will help isolate those muscles for you. I’ve heard some people talk about the best abs diet but i’ve yet to find one.
Jasmine: Trouble is, not only is it my neck that gets strained when I do sit ups, but my back too, no way sit ups lose belly fat the way I’m doing them, so I’ve been wondering about the abs belts I keep seeing on line, will they really target my stomach the way I want? I guess I’m asking the same question, but need some clarification before I invest.
Daria: First of all, yes using ab toning belts do help to isolate the muscles. I never had as much luck doing sit ups vs crunches which DO work better but I still, like you, would get neck/back pain. And then I just altogether stopped doing sit ups during pregnancy and instead got an abs belt afterwards. Stomach ha s never looked better!
GNonemacher: Yeah a good ab toner will feel just like a sit ups workout of used often. It is a very targeted piece of equipment that is great for people that are just startng a wrkout routine and want to see fast results.
Leah: The sit ups workout I’m doing now might be better if I got one of those neck support things I saw on line, but still, I’m not sure it’s really getting to my stomach muscles the way it should, and crumb, do you know how many of these you have to do to see any results? So maybe an ab belt would help the most, at least I know it’s right on the target belly area!
Allie: The answer is yes and I too know what you are talking about, the neck pain was pretty bad while trying to do sit ups everyday. much prefer my ab belt routine.
Summer: I feel the same. I would love to hear tht a ab toning belt does great focused ab work. I really have to lose belly fat. I am about 15 pounds overweight nd it is all in my gut. Time to cut carbs and booze. boo.
Heather: Ab toning belts are much better then doing sit ups while pregnant, I can tell you that. I knew that sit ups calories were related, but now I think you can burn just as many by walking with an EMS belt on. Especially if you have a new baby in your life schedule.
Gayla: Sit ups exercises always strained my neck too! Would like to try an ab belt, but still not sure which one to get. Still looking at some other reviews.
sophie: yes, i had the same situation with situps, if u dont do them correct you may as well NOT EVEN BE DOING THEM, except for how you usually hurt yourself. In terms of situps vs crunches, i think situps are probably a tiny bit better but really they all depend on proper form or they are a waste. i learned this after doing a lot of both of them and getting no results. I think maybe an ab belt can work just as well at the very least it is not gonna hurt ur neck or back,.
Les, MO: Well I do sit ups everyday and I must do them right because I have no pains. But I think a ab belt is supposed to dot he same thing, so if you have troubles, try that, why not.
Annette: Sit ups while pregnant, ok for the middle trimester, and then after delivery, get an abs belt and plan to start using it maybe 6 weeks after baby, it will give you a good feeling to have those gel pads on you in the area that’s going to be the worst, a fast and easy way to start getting back in shape, and you don’t have tow worry about straining any of your muscles.
HKW: Well using an abdominal belt is WAY better than doing sit ups everyday and if you use it several times a week, you will see fast results in your mid section.
Magda: I need a new workout. I am tired of the workout sit ups routine that does nothing. I am not fat but I dont have a 6 pack abs like I thought I woul d either. its time for change. I need to get toned and taut. Ab belt?
vivian: Generally it seems to me that doing basic sit ups exercises the upper abs only and so its hard to get to the lower abs and obliques anyway, unless you find a more extensive abs routine. Some of the toning belts get all three muscle groups in your middle in just the one work out. That seems more efficient. Although, i think with sit ups calories are burned, not sure they are as much with a belt.
Chase: Yes, my abdominal belt targets the stomach muscle pretty good. My husband mentoined maybe doing super set ab workout with isometric holds. I do recommend using it while running if you want better results. I got my belt after i was told not to do sit ups during pregnancy.
Alison: IS it safe to do sit ups while pregnant?
Angela: I don’t think sit ups calories wise are much, running is way better, and if you do the running and wear an abs belt at the same time, you’re sure going to see faster and more direct results than you will with just those painful and boring sit ups exercises.
Twin2: I actually was told not to do sit ups during pregnancy. But I had a rough one. Right after the baby, I used an ab belt and really did feel like it was isolating my muscles that I had not used in 9 months. 4 monts later, and I’m still using one because it adds a lot to my exisiting exercise routine.
Oggy: I do situps everyday and in my opinion that is what u have to do to get your abs under control. i dont go in for these quick and easy approaches like ab belts, you have to work no pain no gain. i do wish i could get slightly more of the 6 pack definition but nothing is perfect.
Delia: Can you do sit ups while pregnant ? I am 5 months and I know I am ot going to stay skinny but I want to keep my muscles tight> I think it makes sense to work out and speciaficlly train my abdominal muscles. I wnt to get something to get ahold ot control of over my body now!
Cheyanne: Not sure I understand the difference between sit ups vs crunches. I find both very hard on my neck and back too. Gonna look at some a b belt reviews online and see if this is a good alternative for me since you all have been talking about it here.
Beatriz: Sit ups everyday made my back just about the worst it’s ever been, I had to crawl up my knees to stand up straight, anybody been there done that? NOT fun, so that’s when I decided to try an ab belt, seemed like a way easy way to get toned, liking it so far.
Karen: IS there an effective sit ups workout that does not require equipment? I have used the Ab Circle Pro and it fine but I would like to get down to more basic exercises. I do think the belts isolate muscles and other equipment too but it just mimics what you do with crunches. And also think if I do sit ups lose belly fat a little faster than if i just do cardio, thats what I hope for.
marie: I have read some good reviews about abs contour belt, and sit ups vs crunches and they seem to be easy and you don;t have to twist yourself around. I am a senior and cant be doing anything to crazy at my age. No more sit ups workout for me.
