Other than a basic sit up plan how can I get my abdominals in tip top shape?
Ted: All kinds of abdominals exercises out there, the balance ball, pilate, yoga, just do a quick google search. Me I am old school, sit ups and crunches is all I do for abs. I mean there are even best ab exercises without equipment if you look hard enough.

And the trouble is, you’re really not supposed to stress whatever’s left, muscles wise, for up to two months, so I’m looking at a sorry looking stomach, WANT to exercise, can’t just yet, so I’m going to start with an abs belt in another week or so, it won’t hurt anything and will start to give me a little lift and hope that I can get back in shape fast after I can start doing crunches, besides the belt.

When I wanted to work on my abdominals after c section, I bought one of those abdominal toning belts and just wore it around the house for about 20 minutes a day while I did house and baby chores. It worked fast and I am still using it – 10 months since my son was born!

I looked in the mirror and just wanted to cry, PLUS everytime I’d start to do some crunches, whatever, little Nathan would start to cry and I’d have to stop so now I’m wearing and abs belt for 30 minutes a day, it’s the perfect solution for me right now, in another month I’m going back to the gym, that will be a happy day!!!
blakeMGM: You can get abdominals definition without a traditional sit-up plan just takes a little bit of work. I found some good little exercises in this abdominals magazine called Iron Man. You can read it online.

Elia: I am not ashame to admit i actually used an abdominal toning belt to develop my abdominals muscles. I was tired of looking like I had a boy body when i was actually in my early 20s.It worked for me. I can actually now do sit-ups , now that I am a lot stronger. BOb: There are a whole slew of abdominals exercises you can do that are NOT sit-ups that will get you in shape. Best to do a real consistent abdominals workout routine that combines crunches & twists and maybe try using those exercise balls. real important is to change it up form time to time & not give up.

I’m finding the combination of my Swiss ball and Flex Belt are just about unbeatable for fast results…I finally am getting tip top, just like you’re talking about.

Fjackson: Abdominals muscles are not soley defined by sit-ups or crunches I don’t care what an “abdominals wiki” search tells you. I got my abs into tip top shape by running three times a weak, using a medicine ball, balance trainer and ab toning belt.
LynnD: In order to workout abdominals I engage them in Pilates. But I wont be able to when I have the baby 8 months from now and I better get an ab belt soon.

Can an ab belt be effective for that? I obviously would wait for however long it takes me to heal. But i want results, and i want them fast!
Meredith: SO I had to go to more extreme measures than just sit-ups too, to tone my abdominals after pregnancy they were just a mess. HIt the gym for 2 hours a day, because you know, cardio helps as weell as isometric exercises. Didn;t hire a trainer but I used the balls & ab rolers and whatever else I could find & it work.
Kiersten, ME: Since I got myself a toning belt, I tell you, my abdominals function in MUCH better condition. I mean, I can actually tel I HAVE muscles! I think this device is loads better than sit-ups, more efficient and real easy to use.
noelle: i am not even sure how your abdominals function, alls I know is my sit-up routine doesn’t do a whole heck of a lot. Plus its hard, and its a pain finding time in my schedule to get down on the floor and do 100 or so. maybe i am not doing enough? i dunno. what you all are saying about ab belts. I have a great interest in those. Anyone try the ab gymnic? Would love to have abdominals after pregnancy!
