Have been doing ab crunches and midsection work for years. My question is has anyone had any results doing ab crunches on ball?
VJacobson: Well I just got this little Bender Ball thing that I saw on TV and it came with an ab crunches video – am liking it so far but not sure it will give me fast results. Was thinking about adding an abdominal toning belt to this workout. Anyone here tried that or seen a better ab toner as seen on TV?
Anna: When it comes to calories burned I do think the balance ball has a good effect. Then again, I do cardio every other day and ab crunches everyday. My stomach is not as flat as I would like and I think an ab belt would be the third component to my workout and then maybe i will finally have that midsection I have always wanted.
MelissaO: Are you not happy with the results you’ve been getting from the work you have been doing? I think ab crunches on a Swiss or Bender Ball are always good, but not always easy. IMO, ab crunches calories burned depends on how hard you work and how often.
JennaMVA: I think ab crunches on a ball are good for your midsection but can hurt your back if you don’t do them properly. I had a pretty good routine in place using a little green ball, but now am 4 months pregnant. Is it ok to do ab crunches during pregnancy?
Julian: IF you mean on e of those Pilates balls, then yes & no. Using them does seem to make ab crunches exercises more effective, I mean, if you do them correcly & frequently, you willget results. HOwever, it is pretty difficult to get th e hang of, at least I thought so. I was using one for a bout a month and saw some improvement, then I just sorta, got out of the routine. Now I’m reading ab belt reviews, think that might be a little easy -er. basically my question is do ab toning belts work or not?
lorrie: well i can’t stand ab crunches exercises even on a flat surface, i cant imagine how it would be easier for me to roll around on some ball. i have terrible balance and a bad back, so i think for me that kind of routine is a recipe for disaster. i am looking into an abs contour belt, which lets me position myself exactly the way i prefer: on the couch, in front of the TV. I have been reading some online reviews of this and it seems like it is no joke: people are getting results.
Mary: Ab crunches calories burned? Well, sure, crunches are a good way to exercise and get thinner, for me, anyway, but when I started out, doing those barely back and then sit up crunches with the fitness ball I had seemed kind of silly, didn’t feel like it really added anything to my routine. So basically I gave it up, started doing a full Pilates routine 3 times a week, without a ball, but it was kind of slow, now I’m looking for something that’s quicker and easier, like maybe an ab toning belt? I’m about ready for something fast and easy so I can watch t.v. after work, not have to be tortured by a program I don’t really want to do anymore…but still look good! That’s what I’m after.
Anonymous: Oh! I do ab crunches on one of those big balls and I think my pudge is dimishing. But it I could work out my belly with a toning belt while I read gossip online or talked to my mom…well that would be sweet. had better read hmore reviews. I dont want another exercise equipment I never use. Thanks you!
Theresa: Are ab crunches during pregnancy ok? I sure hope so, the results I’m getting since I started using an exercise ball are really good, but I’m sure not going to continue them if it’s going to hurt little Widget, I mean, I have to sacrifice something, maybe it’s going to be my belly for awhile? On the other hand, an ab toning belt after I have this munchkin might be an easy way to get back into shape, not so stressful on my body as full out floor crunches, guess I’ll have to see how I feel, and then figure out what will work best for me. Any advice for me out there?
CarolineS: Is an ab belt ok to use when you’re pregnant? I had been doing ab crunches everyday but haven’t used a ball. Having to change my whole workout routine now that I’m carrying this package but also want to keep working on my midsection until the baby arrives, if possible.
AudreyVance: I see people doing those ab crunches on ball routines when i am at the gym, and i just dont think it’s for me. I don’t mind that it looks silly, but it also looks awkward and uncomfortable. i always worry about loosing my balance, i get vertigo sometimes and weird motion like that is not so pleasant. I think an ab belt would definitley be more my speed. From what i am reading online, that kind of program is easy and fast and fine for people at all balance and coordination levels. Would even be game for an ab crunches video.
delores mendelson: if you have been doing ab exercises for years then you are probably ina better place than when i started. i can say that, i had NOT done a sit-up in a good 10 years so when i began doing ab crunches on ball that my gym has, i saw big changes righ t away. but i have read reviews on ab toning belts that seems like, it might be good to use those, for taking it to the netxt level? i dont know what kind of program you are lookin for exactly or what type of results your after but there are many options around these days, its seems. It’s always best to watch for ab crunches calories burned ratio to keep energy up.
Irene: I watched an ab crunch video online, the Mayo clinic one? I’m telling you, I don’t know how anybody could do this, I know I’d just slip right off the sucker as soon as I sat down on it, and that wouldn’t be so good for 52 year old bones, so now I’m looking at an ab contour belt I ran across in my search for crunch exercises, and am thinking it’s a marvelous thing! Yes??? Seems so easy, no routine required, fast results, what a discovery this would be, WAY better than trying to make my butt balance on a big balloon…
VanW: Ab crunches on stability ball will keep your midesction looking good, but they aren’t that easy. Think adding a toning belt to any work is always a good idea. It has def. given me a bit more core strength and stability than doing crunches alone.
Grace: Is it safe to do ab crunches during pregnancy. I am 5 months. Or would ab ab toning belt be better?
Marcie: As somebody said, you’re probably already in better shape than most of us if you’ve been doing this for years, I’m trying to catch up to where I think I should be with this darn ball I bought, and it’s very hard for me! I’m using a Pilates ball, going to classes, everybody seems better at it than I do, which I’m finding discouraging. And if you’re not too motivated in the first place, that’s bad. So I’m reading all sorts of reviews on ab belts, I saw one on t.v. the other night, and it looks like it might be more my speed. I don’t have to try and keep my balance and work out at the same time, can get results fast…think I’m liking the idea a whole lot.
TammieR: I’ve had pretty good results using an ab crunches exercise ball and am thinking about a cardio twister pro
- i like to do them on my bosu trainer (it’s like half a swiss ball), but there is a lot of mention of ab belts here, so I wonder if I shouldn’t try to read some more reviews on them. Is that something you’ve used since you have been doing midsection work for so long? I’m just getting seriousl about it.
Esther Graves: HAve done ab crunches on stability ball s in the past & it requires a lot of balance and coordination. I don’t know how it comparesto teh type of exercises you do now but it aint’ easy. I;m using a flex belt, its more my speed, am starting slow but can built up to a higher intenstiyt level when i’m ready. GOt this one for the good reviews i read online.
Luella: is there an ab crunches video to go along with workouts? I want to workout in the comfort of my home but I need the motivation of someone like Jilian michaels to kick my butt virtually. The bender ball or whatever you call it doesnt seem to make that much difference to the resutls at least to me.
christine: So have any of you women tried to use an ab crunches exercise ball at home? If you have kids, good luck with that. Like a lot of women, I am very busy, i work hard, and my schedule is insane. For me, there was NEVER a good time for me to be rolling around atop a giant ball with 2 toddlers in the house. My son literally kicked it out from under me once. For a while, I tried to do it after they went to sleep but I am EXHAUSTED then and i just like to sit around with my husband and watch TV. These abs toning belts do sound really good, fast and painless, i might like to try one.
Fiona: Ab crunches on a stability ball? Who’s kidding who? I tried a demo at a store, fell IMMEDIATELY off, that was the end of it for me, right there. But the regular crunches I’ve been doing everyday are so BORING, thinking I’m going to try an ab toning belt I’ve been looking at online, maybe it will reinspire me? I’m in pretty good shape already, just don’t want to have to work so hard to stay this way, might be a good short cut to a result I can live with…
Sheila: Yeah i did and as a matter of fact I have better results with ball than on the floor. It’s strengthen the whole mid section. I do ab crunches everyday and my stomach is flat, well i also do a lot of cardio.
Miles: My question to you is, do you do ab crunches everyday or every other day or what is your current routine? I have read its best to firstof all, lower your body fat percentage and also to make sure your wroking out different muscles, upper abs, lower abs, obliques and all that. Any props probably help, a ball, a bench, a b belt, whatever so long as you have a plan and stick to it,do your cardio, ab workout and eat well every day.
Benjamin: I can’t believe you haven’t tried ab crunches on ball if yu’ve been doing midsection work for so long. Seems to me like an obviously good part of any ab program. Not sure what all the fuss is over the ab belts either – they work too as I’m sure you know, but not as good unless combined with other types of work.
amy: I used to do ab crunches on stability ball and that worked out pretty well until i threw out my back…now i need to go easy and not hurt myself! I want to try an ab contour belt , seems like that would fit into my routine pretty easily. still reading the reviews to narrow down the best one.
Bedelia: My ab crunches exercise ball is deflated and in my bedroom closet, I’m with you, Christine! In fact, I don’t even know why I kept it, impossible for me to use, just slip sliding away every time I tried to hootch myself onto it. And when I’m that nervous about keeping my balance? Who can concentrate on where my center is, all that? I’m looking for something that doesn’t take so much concentration, where I can sort of relax while I’m doing it…a program with an ab belt looks like it’s got a lot of possibilities for me, a fast routine that doesn’t really take any effort on my part other than putting the thing on…think I’m liking this idea, gain, but no pain! LOL!
Kirsten Hadley: Wheni got my balance balll I also got an ab crunches video so that I would know how to use it better and that helped. I prefer the ball to the floor, its tough, sur e bu t I really feel the burn. I dont; see how you get the same high using an ab belt, how to measure ab crunches calories burned?? sorry i see that as taking the easy way out..
RealMan: Ball based ab crunches exercises work better for folks just starting midesction work, so I think this might be too easy for you. Personally, am curious about this ab toning belt that everyone is mentioning. Will check it out, want to add another level to my routine.
Wendy: when I do ab crunches on stability ball they are so much harder which must mean they are working. however, on days when I have to work I would love an ab belt that I can wear disxretely. Have been thinking about the ab sonic work any one know about it?
KatyDay: An ab crunches on ball routine is just too hard for me, I admit it, I’m a woose; I want to be toned and fit, which it sounds like you are! and I’m jealous, btw, but this isn’t anything I can do very well, thinking a toning belt might be a good idea, been reading reviews on line after I threw away my exercise ball, now I’m about convinced to go the easy way, and never mind all the huffing and puffing of 100 crunches every day, this 30 minute routine sounds way better to me.
Traci: Ugh, the very thought of doing ab crunches during pregnancy makes me feel a little queasy…I can’t imagine it being safe? ANd using an ab energizer…wouldn’t those electric shocks be harmful?? I don’t know, I think I will wait until after the baby comes to get one, see what my schedule is like, if I needit. But if any of you women have information to persuade me otherwise, I’ m al ears. or,..eyes i suppose.
Jemima: Ab crunches exercises? Why does there have to be a ball involved? Just use your body and some resistance bands, that’s all you need, and follow it up with some time with a new ab machines like an ab shocker, you’ve got the whole deal covered, easy, fast, great way to get a flat stomach in a week or two!
JC: ab crunches on ball is balls:) It’s not for men in my opinion. I mean ab crunches exercise ball could work for some.
